In order to be eligible for admission to the Master of Arts in Japanese Studies program at the University of Colombo, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies from a recognized University/Institution OR
- Any other Bachelor’s degree with prior learning/work experience in Japanese Studies OR
- Professional qualification from a recognized professional body acceptable to the Faculty Board of the FGS and Senate of University of Colombo with prior learning/work experience in Japanese Studies OR
- Completion of NVO level 7 (equivalent to Bachelors degree or above) with relevant work experience in Japanese Studies as determined by the Faculty Board of the FGS and Senate of the University of Colombo
Additionally, you should have:
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Satisfactory performance in a selection test/selection interview

Complete the form and gather certified copies of your National Identity Card, Birth Certificate, educational qualifications, professional qualifications (if any), and work experience certificates. Don’t forget to pay the application fee of LKR 3,000 for local students or 40 USD for foreign students. You can make the payment at any People’s Bank branch using the provided code or through the online payment portal (pay.cmb.ac.lk). The deadline for applications is 30th July 2023.
